The Chamber staff answer a lot of questions each day. Here you can find the answers to some they hear the most often.

Why are there so many rocks at the chamber office?
The rocks and boulders will be used for the river restoration project to take place in 2009.  With the removal of the failing dam, the river restoration project will provide an aesthetically pleasing solution that will retain the function of the dam naturally, while also enhancing the natural habitat of the river for plant and fish species. 

Where is Chesaning located?

Chesaning is located on M-57 18 miles west of I-75 and 20 miles east of US-127. We are approximately a 35 minute drive from Saginaw, Birch Run Outlet Mall or Frankenmuth, about an hour drive from Mt. Pleasant or Lansing, and about a two hour drive from Detroit or Grand Rapids.  Chesaning is exit number 131 off of I-75.

Does Chesaning have a campground?
Chesaning's campground is located in Showboat Park and features 70 losts with electricitiy or prmitive camping sites available for your enjoyment.  Campground is open from April through November. 

What is the population of Chesaning?
Chesaning Village - 2,548     Chesaning Township - 2,337
The Village is approximately three square miles and the Township is 36 square miles.

When does Chesaning Showboat take place?
Chesaning Showboat is a Michigan tradition, now celebrating 68 years and runs the second full week of July.

Where do I buy tickets to ride the Showboat?
Chesaning Showboat is not a passenger boat or a dinner boat cruise.  Audiences are seated in an outdoor riverbank amphitheater seating 6,600.  The Showboat is used as the backdrop for the stage area and brings a host of professional entertainers.
